It’s no secret that Windows 10 is a major platform for apps, and the upcoming version of Windows 10 will have a ton of them.
This year’s operating system is expected to include hundreds of thousands of new apps.
One such app that’s coming to Windows 10 for the first time is the smart home app “Halo”, a Windows 10 app that allows users to create and control home automation devices using their smartphone.
To make that happen, Microsoft will be using the Windows 10 “Dev Center” to enable the app to connect to the Cortana service, which is the central platform for connecting your Windows 10 devices to the cloud.
Cortana will be available in the Microsoft Store and the Cortana Developer Center for $1.99 per month, but the company will also be charging developers to use Cortana in the future.
For developers, Cortana is a perfect platform for making real-world automation apps, which could help make Windows 10 the home for more real-life automation apps than ever before.
