Amazon is hoping to take its online shopping and advertising business into Ireland by 2018.
It is planning to open its first European headquarters in the country in 2019 and has also signed deals with a range of Irish technology companies, including Apple and Google.
It will have an office in Dublin’s CBD.
In the meantime, it will remain a key part of Amazon’s European operation.
Last week, Amazon announced a €4 billion investment in Ireland.
Its Irish unit has a turnover of €8.4 billion ($9.5 billion) and employs more than 3,000 people.
It is now also the biggest employer in the UK, with almost half a million workers.
