Wellington’s local ad agency has created a brand-new ad for DubuQian, a dish made with chicken, potatoes and garlic that’s also popular in Dubu Que, the village of the same name in the Northern Territory.
Dubu Qians main dish is a mix of chicken, mashed potatoes, and garlic and is topped with a fried egg and topped with some cheese.
“We have been using Dubu and the culture around it for many years, and our ad shows Dubu’s heritage,” said Wellington ad agency, The Green Group.
“Dubuque is one of the best places in the world for people to come and enjoy a local dish, and we hope the ad will draw in people from around the world who love Dubu.”
Dubuqa’s local director, Tom Nunnall, told BuzzFeed News that Dubuqi was inspired by the village’s favourite food.
“It’s so delicious, I’ve never seen a chicken breast this good in my life, and I’ve eaten a lot of chicken,” he said.
“I thought that maybe the food could do something that we’ve been missing for a long time.”
The Green group’s ad will run in all major media, including local radio and television.
The Green said the campaign was part of a wider push to showcase DubuQue to potential international advertisers.
“This ad is about celebrating Dubu, and showcasing what makes the community tick,” Nunnal said.
